Sacramento Ghost Tour Guide

Sacramento's ghost stories are unusually well documented, largely because the city buried an entire street level in the 1860s and sealed a lot of history underneath.

Tours run in the evening and last about an hour, covering saloons, hotels and alleys within a few walkable blocks of the waterfront.

They are recommended for ages 10 and up. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a layer — evenings on the river are cooler than the afternoon suggests.

The late slot is the most atmospheric, and it pairs well with dinner in Old Sacramento beforehand.
